Dear Shelton School District Families and Community,
Based on current COVID-19 data trends and other factors related to reopening our schools safely and responsibly, with support from the school board, we have made the decision to postpone the date to reopen our schools in a blended model until February 22, 2021. As a reminder, February 22nd is a fluid date that may change based on numerous factors. We will keep families informed as we navigate forward.
This decision was not made lightly and involved numerous meetings with teachers, union leaders, building administrators, cabinet members, and the school board, and the status of COVID-19.
Although we will not be reopening our schools in a blended model until February 22nd, our schools are actively working on bringing in more students using the small group model that has been established and running successfully.
Thank you for your understanding and patience during these ever-changing and challenging times.
Alex P. Apostle, Ph.D
Superintendent
