We want to hear from you!
This survey is for planning purposes only. We will be sending out more information soon.

As the Shelton School District plans for the 2021-22 school year, we would like to hear from you. We are providing the option of a virtual school that is 100% online instruction for next year.

It is important for families to understand that the virtual option for next year will not be structured the same as it has been during hybrid learning. It will be its own school, separate from any other Shelton School District campus.  Families will need to fill out an application and enroll their students into the online school this spring. Students who enroll in the virtual school will need to commit to at least one trimester.

Families should be aware that online students will have the unique opportunity to engage in 100% virtual learning, but they will not have access to every option available at the traditional buildings. The curriculum will be primarily self-paced, and students will access the curriculum on their own schedule, with guidance from their mentor at home. Students will have access to Shelton School District teachers for support. Although some live lessons will be provided, the majority of the students’ learning will be asynchronous.

In order for a student to be accepted into this school, they must have an adult mentor who can provide support for them while they work through their online lessons. Families will have flexibility regarding the time of day to access the curriculum and complete their lessons. Each student must have contact with their teacher on a weekly basis, and families will be required to do a monthly check-in with their Shelton School District teacher advisor.

If you would like more information before you complete the survey, please contact Kelly Neely at kneely@sheltonschools.org and she will get back to you.
This survey will close on Wednesday, May 5th.
