Pending Board approval, we are excited to announce the following positions for the 2020-2021 school year:


Evergreen Principal:  Amber Targus 

Amber Targus has served as the Assistant Principal at Oakland Bay Jr. High since 2017. Before her role as assistant principal, Mrs. Targus was a special education teacher since 2010. As an assistant principal, Mrs. Targus has been responsible for assisting in creating relevant professional development opportunities for teachers for mid-level grades, overseeing the Associated Student Body (ASB) funding and activities, observing, supervising, and evaluating teachers and support staff, overseeing student discipline by ensuring the adherence of the student code of conduct, supervising daily operations of a school and addressing areas of improvement, supervising students on campus before and after school, and much more.


Amber holds a Residency Principal Certificate and her educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts degree in Secondary Education/4-12 English/ K-12 Special Education Endorsement from Washington State University, Masters in Curriculum and Instruction- Teaching Through the Arts from Lesley University, and a Certificate in Educational Administration from Western Washington University.

 

Oakland Bay Jr. High Assistant Principal: Rachel Torazzi

Before her current position as a Mentor/Coach with ESD 113, Rachel Torazzi was a classroom teacher from 2008-2016, followed by a Reading Interventionist K-8, a T.O.A (Dean of Students), Assistant Principal, and Adjunct Professor. Rachel’s leadership experience includes supporting the mission and vision of the school, supporting and assisting the building principal, implementing schoolwide behavior plans, promoting positive communication with families and community members, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of students and staff, and much more. Rachel has a passion and enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and making a positive difference every day.


Rachel holds a Principal Certificate and her educational credentials include a Bachelor’s degree in Education K-8 from St. Martin's University, and a Master’s degree from Grand Canyon University AZ where she earned her Educational Administration P-12 Certificate.


Evergreen Dean of Students:  Ron Goodale 

Ron Goodale is currently wrapping up his first year serving as the Dean of Students at Evergreen Elementary. Ron is a long-time teacher and served as the SEA president. We are pleased to have him stay on as the dean for the 20-21 school year.
