Congratulations to the Shelton Schools Foundation grant recipients!

CongratsThe Shelton Schools Foundation is pleased to announce the recipients of their 2019-20 school year grant awards. Four staff members from throughout the school district applied for a grant funding totaling $1963.46. The Foundation is a 501-c3 organization whose members are community volunteers. Fundraising for grant projects is accomplished primarily through donations. The Foundation was able to fund all requests.

A total of $1963.46 will be dispersed to the following: Brian Wirzbicki, Bordeaux Elementary, for transportation and materials to the Junior Achievement BizTown program for 4th grade; Cindy Hall, Olympic Middle School, to accommodate transportation for 5th and 6th grade Native American Ed Students to visit the Seattle Art Museum-NW Coast Art Exhibition; Madison Crow, Shelton High School, for participation in the field through the Pacific Education Institute; and Sherry Simon, Shelton High School, for materials and expenses to submit student photography to the Washington State High School Photography Contest.

The mission of the Shelton Schools Foundation is to enrich the educational opportunities of the students in the Shelton School District, Shelton, Washington. Their purpose is to provide support for 1) development and enhancement of exemplary educational programs and activities; 2) technology improvement throughout the district; 3) teacher and student recognition; 4) program and technical assistance to the disadvantaged; 5) arts and cultural enhancement of all people involved; and 6) movement of students to higher education. Grant applications were reviewed by a committee from the Shelton Schools Foundation Board that looked for the match of the grant need to their statement of purpose.
