During the September 22nd School Board meeting, Superintendent Dr. Alex P. Apostle announced his retirement from the district effective June 30, 2021. The Shelton School Board has initiated a search for the district's next superintendent and is committed to an open and transparent search process with stakeholder input with the goal to hire the best Superintendent for the Shelton School District. 

Selection Time Line

  1. Closing date for applications: February 25, 2021
  2. Board of Directors selects finalists to interview: March 18, 2021
  3. Interviews with the Board of Directors: March 27-31, 2021
  4. Selection of new Superintendent: Early April, 2021 5. Start date: July 1, 2021

November 24, 2020

During the regular School Board meeting, the school board decided to select McPherson & Jacobson LLC as the superintendent search firm.

November 20, 2020

A Special Board meeting was held for the school board to review of the superintendent search consultant interviews held on November 16-17, 2020. 

November 17, 2020

A Special Board meeting was held for the school board to interview Northwest Leadership as a potential search consultant for the new SSD superintendent.
