  • This is not an additional levy.
  • The current levy expires December 31, 2017.
  • Ballots need to be turned in by February 14th, 2017
  • The levy rate is projected not to exceed $4.38 per $1,000 of assessed valuation.
  • It may even come in at a lower rate.
  • The new levy would not impose a new tax in addition to what is currently in place, but will replace the expired tax.
  • The new levy would be a 3-year levy.
  • Shelton School District would receive matching money from the state and other districts (non-high districts that send their students to the Shelton School District) only if the levy passes.
  • The Maintenance and Operations Levy provides about 18.75% of the district's budget. These dollars maintain all or a part of many educational programs and services in addition to the maintenance of facilities.
  • The levy amount to be collected is as follows:
    • 2018 - $7,330,000
    • 2019 - $7,330,000
    • 2020 - $7,330,000
