Shelton's Superintendent

Dear Families and Community:

I hope this summer break has and will continue to be a time of relaxation with family and friends. I must say that this summer has been very busy and challenging, yet exciting in preparation for the 2019-20 school year.

The staff and I have been focused on completing all bond projects as promised, on schedule and within budget. I am very happy to report we are meeting and in some cases exceeding all of our goals. To say the least, I am very grateful and proud of everyone.

We would not be in this position without you. The target is clear, all schools will be ready for school to begin on September 16, 2019. There is no question work remains regarding the bond, but with everyone’s continued cooperation, patience and perseverance we will prevail.

The 2019-20 school year presents a new beginning, a new era which is founded on a very strong foundation that we and those that preceded us created, for that we must all be thankful and proud. Without this culture and heritage, we would not be where we are today.

Passing the bond, reviewing our PK-12 instructional program, reconfiguring our schools, developing new programs and pathways, maintaining high expectations and standards for all staff and retaining a strong financial position will not only benefit us today but will ensure our success well into the future. All of these efforts provide our staff and students with 21st-century learning experiences, which supports our vision of 100% graduation.

We have much to celebrate and be thankful for. Let’s celebrate together and make the 2019-20 school year a continuance of striving to provide the very best for our students, staff, and community. I feel honored and humbled to serve as your Superintendent.
