Transportation for the 19/20 School Year

(Date Posted 5/17/2019)

Starting in the 2019-20 school year, 5th and 6th-grade students will ride the bus with 7th -12th-grade students. Buses will have seating charts to create separation, keeping the 5th & 6th graders at the front of the bus.

This decision was not made lightly and every effort was put forth in order to figure out a solution that would make everyone feel comfortable. Unfortunately, SSD does not have the resources or the additional drivers and buses that it would take to cover the additional routes in order to separate the younger and older students. Please keep in mind that the Shelton School District understands the concerns about younger students riding the same buses as older students and safety will continue to be our number one priority.

For further information, please contact the Transportation Department at (360) 426-8686.
