Budget Update

(Date Posted 5/8/2019)

A message from Dr. Apostle:

I want to take the opportunity to update you on our progress regarding the 2019-20 budget.  As of May 7, 2019 we are in the process of gathering and analyzing information from the legislature’s latest information.  We have been notified that we will receive important budget information in two weeks.  This hopefully will provide us with the information necessary to begin finalizing the 2019-20 budget.

I understand and appreciate everyone’s concern in reference to the budget, I share those concerns and will do everything possible to convey important budgetary information as soon as it is received and reviewed for accuracy.  The last thing I want to do is “jump the gun” and communicate information that might not be accurate or appropriate.

I will say as of today (May 8, 2019) that nothing has changed regarding our need to reduce the budget by $5 million.  We are staying the course as determined by school board resolution and myself.

I will make you aware of any changes in this position as we move through the process.

Sincerely,

Alex P. Apostle

Superintendent
