What is the Ready! for Kindergarten Program?

FREE classes for parents/caregivers of children ages birth to five years old who live in the Shelton School District. Through “play and learn” activities, these classes will give you the knowledge and tools you need to help your children get ready for school.  

When and where are workshops?

All classes will be held at Olympic Middle School and free childcare will be provided next door at the Early Learning Center.

Who teaches the workshops?

Classes are taught by current Shelton School District employees!

Parents of 0-1 year olds taught by Gabriela Garcia (English and Spanish)

Parents of 1-2 year olds taught by Lilly Serhan (English) and Maria Garcia (Spanish)

Parents of 2-3 year olds taught by Sherrie Hickman (English) and Becky Soto-Ortiz (Spanish)

Parents of 3-4 year olds taught by Patrice Marie (English) and Lilly Serhan (Spanish)

Parents of 4-5 year olds taught by Jenn Clark (English) and Betty Uriostegui (Spanish)

Will there be childcare offered during the parent workshops?

Yes, FREE childcare is provided during the workshops for children over the age of 1 (Infants ages birth to 12 months attend class with parent(s)/guardian(s)). 

You must arrive 20 minutes prior to your workshop starting to ensure you have plenty of time to register your child for childcare and make it to your workshop on time.  Childcare is located at the Early Learning Center next door to Olympic Middle School.
